Who is suitable for ProAligners?
ProAligners are suitable for a broad range of age groups in the UK. Generally, they are best for young teens over 14 years of age, who have their permanent teeth completely developed, or adults at any age looking for an opportunity to straighten their teeth without the unsightliness of metal brackets and wires that come with traditional braces.
For teenagers, invisible teeth aligners can be effective at treating mild to moderate alignment problems and allow you to remain confident in public or social gatherings. Young people also select these clear aligners mainly for convenience, as they can be removed whilst eating or on special occasions.
Older individuals will benefit because invisible aligners are gentle and enhance both bite and aesthetics without making any major changes to daily routines. Of course, having healthy gums and teeth are essential and if you have untreated gum disease or decay, the likely success of your treatment can be adversely affected.

What does the treatment process include?
Consultation
The clear aligner process starts with an initial consultation, where you can get a demonstration of the entire treatment procedure. Next, you will get to know some of the many success stories involving our former patients who previously had their smiles transformed with invisible aligners and you will also have the chance to ask questions to the dentist.
Evaluation
Next, an evaluation will be conducted by one of our practitioners. Each practitioner at ProAligners is highly experienced and will help determine if you are compatible with invisible aligners. Usually, most people are suitable candidates for clear aligners treatment; however, those having orthodontic issues may be unfit to undergo the procedure.
Diagnostics
We will subsequently perform some diagnostics. This involves collecting information and undertaking different tests to derive a clearer picture of your past, present and future orthodontic health. Lastly, we will assess your dental history and collect scans and X-rays of your mouth before developing your personalised treatment plan.
Preview
Next we create a virtual 3D image so you can understand how your teeth will move stage by stage throughout your treatment. This enables you to get a view of how your final smile will exactly look once you have completed the treatment.
Approval
Only when you are completely satisfied with the treatment plan, the process and projected results, we will officially begin the treatment. When you approve of our plans, we will immediately get started on creating your first set of custom-made aligners.
Process
Next it is up to you! You will need to wear your ProAligners for 20 to 22 hours each day throughout the treatment, only taking them out for eating and drinking. You should also brush your teeth before putting your ProAligners back on and keep your aligners as clean as possible.
Aligning
Typically, you will wear each set of aligner trays for about 2 weeks, before transitioning to a different set of aligner trays that are designed to continue to shift your teeth in small increments toward your desired smile. The number of required aligners is based on your specific treatment goals and may differ from person to person.
Monitoring Progress
During the course of your treatment, we will connect with you regularly. You will generally need to come into the clinic every 2 months so that the overall treatment can be monitored and any adjustments made. At the same time we will give you your next batch of aligners.
