Getting married? Don't leave your smile to the last minute. We break down the ideal timeline for brides and grooms.
Your wedding photos last forever. It's no surprise that "Wedding Smile" is one of the top reasons patients visit us. But many leave it too late.
If your wedding is in 2 months, we can't perform a miracle. Orthodontics takes time. Here is your reverse-engineered timeline.
12 Months Before: The Ideal Start
This gives us time for a full Smart Align or Ultimate Align treatment. We can fix crowding, spacing, and bite issues comfortably. You will be finished 1-2 months before the wedding, allowing time for whitening and bonding.
6 Months Before: The "Express" Window
We can use our Easy Align plan to fix the "Social Six" (front teeth). We won't fix the bite or back teeth, but we can make the visible smile straight. This is high pressure—you must be super compliant.
2 Months Before: Whitening Only
It is too late for aligners. We would recommend professional whitening and potentially composite bonding to mask minor imperfections. Do NOT start aligners now, or you might have attachments on your teeth in the wedding photos!
💍 Wedding Countdown
- Month 1: Consultation, Scan, Hygiene clean.
- Month 2-8: Wearing aligners (weight loss bonus often happens here too!).
- Month 9: Finish treatment. Remove attachments.
- Month 10: Whitening & Composite Bonding edge contouring.
Dr Yasha Shirazi's Tip:
"If you are still in treatment on your wedding day, don't worry! We can remove the attachments for the big day so you can be tray-free for the photos, then put them back on after the honeymoon. We plan this into your treatment."
Don't Forget the Groom
30% of our wedding cases are grooms. Men often choose the Easy Align plan to fix that one crooked bottom tooth that bothers them.
